Patrick Swayze Diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer
Actor Patrick Swayze, 55, has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and received a somber message from doctors, only 5 weeks to live.
He was originally diagnosed in January and has been receiving intense chemotherapy treatments that have been less successful than his doctors had hoped.
Pancreatic cancer affects about 33,000 Americans each year. It’s only diagnosable in advanced stages and treatments are rarely effective.
Some factors that increase the risks of pancreatic cancer include:
- age
- male gender
- African American descent
- obesity
- smoking
- diets high in meat
- diabetes
Switching your diet to mainly whole, fresh foods including fruits, vegetables, nuts, seed and natural, living grains is the one of the best ways to regain your optimal weight and reduce your cancer or any disease risks. Here are some additional suggestions:
- reduce or eliminate the effects of stress in your life
- drink lots of water
- get at least 30 minutes of natural sunshine daily
- stay active and exercise daily
- choose organic foods as much as possible
To your best health!
