Merck Agrees To Pay $4.85 Billion To Those Hurt By Vioxx

Pharmaceutical giant Merck, maker of Vioxx, has agreed to pay $4.85 Billion (yes billion!) to settle thousands of lawsuits filed by those hurt by the drug. As in this case with Vioxx, often it’s too late to do anything once you’re hurt by the side effects of a drug.
