Does the F.A.S.T (FAST) Diet Work?

The F.A.S.T. DietTony Dean, creator of The F.A.S.T. Diet, and his family have collectively lost over 500 pounds in just 12 months. He’s now helping communities around the country do the same. So what it’s all about and why did it work for he and his family?

Well, first, Tony got the idea from watching The Biggest Loser on television and getting frustrated when the participants complained they couldn’t make it. They could leave their jobs, compete for prize money and training, stayed in nice places, had great opportunities to hike and exercise, but still complained, had breakdowns and relapses.

After watching all this he realized that the key to success in making any lifestyle change was group support. Having someone to be accountable has always been a key to success for many others so he decided to share his idea with his family.

At first there was some resistance, but after some time everyone gathered together around the idea and the F.A.S.T. Diet was born.

What does F.A.S.T. stand for? Families Always Succeed Together. The concept being that what’s a better support group than your own family? Each family member had another member to be accountable to and could go to for support. The benefit with family members is that they’re with you every day, not just weekly or bi-weekly for workouts and weigh-ins.

This diet is more about support and accountability than eating and exercise, although all three are vital to successful weight loss. It seems that they did it naturally, without any pills, all by making lifestyle changes.

And he’s proven that the concept works.

They all eat better, exercise more and are still accountable to each other regularly to continue their progress. He and his family have lost over 500 pounds in twelve months, and they are now getting together to help communities around the country do the same, using the concept of family support systems.

His success with his family prompted the writing of the book, The F.A.S.T. Diet.

The Dean’s family success is proof that with accountability and support, achieving any lifestyle change or goal is possible. Those with high levels of self-discipline may not need the support structure, but most appreciate the accountability and support of others and overall there is a higher chance of success in making any change.
