Aunt Jemima Pancake Mix Recall
The Quaker Oats Co. has recalled three pancake mix products due to the potential of potential for salmonella contamination.
The three products, Original, Original Complete, and Buttermilk Complete have the best if used by date of February 8, 2009 through February 16, 2009. Anyone with boxes of the recalled products can return them to the store they purchased them from for a full refund. To date, no illnesses have been reported.
This is another example of the benefits of a whole food diet. Foods like this mix are processed, have been manufactured and always have the potential of health concerns, not only from contamination, but from the ingredients itself.
Processed foods are one of the main contributors to obesity and poor health in America today. One of the best way to avoid health concerns and maintain your optimal weight are to remove processed and fast foods from our diet.
Here are some additional suggestions:
- concentrate primarily on a diet of whole foods, fresh, ripe fruits, vegetables, nuts, seed and natural, living grains
- reduce or eliminate the effects of stress in your life
- drink lots of water
- get at least 30 minutes of natural sunshine daily
- stay active and exercise daily
- choose organic foods as much as possible
To your best health!
